About the Film: The Film explores the history of the Parsi community, its relationship to the Indian state and association with the city of Mumbai.
About the Film Makers: Divya Cowasji and Shilpi Gulati have been working in the field of documentary film making for the last four years. Trained at the School of Media and Cultural Studies (TISS), their body of work engages with issues of gender, public space and documenting oral histories of minority communities in India. In addition to independent films Inside Out (2010) and Dere tun Dilli (2012), they have collaborated with NGOs and institutions across the country, generating archival, training and research material which have been showcased as films, audio visual exhibits and online archives. Currently they live and work between Mumbai and Delhi.
About the Kriti Film Club: This is an educational initiative of a not-for-profit organisation 'Kriti team'. We screen and share documentary films on development, environment and socially relevant issues, in an effort to influence mindsets and behaviour towards an equitous, just and peaceful world. We also curate issue based film festivals and organise documentary film shows in neighbourhoods, schools, colleges or institutions on request and otherwise. The Kriti Film Club has been screening documentaries regularly and independently (without any funding) in Delhi NCR since 2000 and in Mumbai since 2019, to promote 'thought-provoking cinema'.
