Lets mark May 1st, 2020 as a day of love, caring, sharing and support to all those who labour at our homes, workplaces, streets, on land, in air, at sea, on the fields and farms, in factories and at the borders, at hospitals and banks and more. Lets recognise, protect and promote workers rights together!

Countless numbers of workers are in lockdown today and not able to come to work. However, their labour is still as valuable and even more to all of us (the household chores and cooking photos/ videos tell part of that story!).

Many others continue to labour at work, despite the corona risks. No banging of utensils or bells needed, just a personal recognition and acknowledgment of them...much of which many of us have already been and are doing.

Lets create a canvas of PERSONAL expressions of love, support and solidarity on MAY DAY at this collective online gathering..for all our workers in lockdown. Some ideas of what we can do and share are given below.   • Think of atleast one WORKER you are missing most during this lockdown, and WRITE AN ODE to her or him and post it on the facebook event page and your social media!
  • Make a VIDEO or take a PHOTO of you doing the work they usually do, SEND IT TO THEM and give them a reason to smile knowing that you value them. If you like, post it here and share how they responded on the facebook event age!!
  • DRAW A PAINTING OR TAKE A PHOTOGRAPH with a message dedicated to one or more of those who labour for you personally all year round and post it on the facebook event page and your social media!
  • MAKE A CALL to any of your workers on May 1st, ask them how they are, promise their SALARY through the lockdown and tell them that you CARE. If you like, share who you called and how they responded, on the facebook event page and your social media!
  • SHARE some special food and a conversation with the guards and support staff who are living in your building during the lockdown or the domestic help who are with you at home. If you like, share how they responded on the facebook event page!!
  • Message or call the medicine or grocery shop, the vegetable and fruit vendor, the food delivery folds and any other workers who are servicing your needs during the lockdown with a THANK YOU for their labour. If you like, share who you called and how they responded on the facebook event page!
