About the film: A film about the journey of the director, who is searching for the Adiwasi culture and life in reference to Ritwik Ghatak’s film ‘Ajantrik’. Ritwik Ghatak made Ajantrik in 1957, and it was shot in Jharkhand. The film is trying to find out what the central idea of the film was and why Ghatak chose this area as the backdrop of the film. About the filmmaker: Meghnath is a filmmaker and activist working in Jharkhand for the last 40 years. He has been with the people’s struggle against destructive development. As a filmmaker, he has tried to document the voice of those sections of people who remain unheard. Meghnath was awarded the prestigious 59th National Film Awards and 65th National Film Awards.
About the Kriti Film Club: This is an educational initiative of a not-for-profit organisation 'Kriti development praxis and communication team'. For 25 years, we have been screening and discussing documentary films on development, environment, and socially relevant issues, in an effort to positively influence mindsets and behaviour towards creating an equitous, just, and peaceful world. We also curate issue-based film festivals and organise documentary film shows in neighbourhoods, communities, schools, colleges, or institutions on request and otherwise.
