and around our lives and communities.

There is Something in the Air

Iram Ghufran/ PSBT/ 26 mins/ English
This film traces a series of ‘dream narratives’ and
spiritual experiences of women petitioners at the shrine of a Sufi saint in north India. “It’s looking at the space of a shrine and witnessing how insanity plays out.
What is insanity allowing one to do? What are its narratives?”

(We are pleased to collaborate with PSBT for this screening.)

A Certain Liberation

Yasmine Kabir/ 38 mins/ English
Gurudasi Mondol gave herself up to madness in 1971, during the Liberation War of
Bangladesh, as she watched her entire family being killed by the Razakars.Thirty years later,
she continues to roam the streets of Kopilmoni, in small-town Bangladesh, in search of all
she has lost; snatching at will from strangers and breaking into spaces normally reserved
for men. Through her indomitable presence, she has kept the spirit of the Liberation War alive.

About Kriti Film Club
This is an educational and research oriented initiative of Kriti: a development research,
praxis and communication team, screening documentaries since the year 2000. We offer an
independently financed and informal space for screening documentary films on a whole
range of social, development, human rights & environment issues. The whole idea of
the KRITI Film Club is to place thought- provoking cinema in a discussion group that will
help to deepen understanding on these issues amongst viewers and film-makers. We also
serve as a borrowing & distribution space for documentary films from India and
abroad.

Open for all, confirmations would be appreciated.
You are welcome to have some chai-shai at our ecoCafe @intervals, on contribution!
