About the film: An intimate exploration of how everyday lives intertwine with personal and political borders in the Indian subcontinent.
About the filmmaker: Samarth Mahajan is a non-fiction filmmaker, passionate about telling human stories that remain invisible to the mainstream. His work includes two national award-winning films which have screened across six continents - the latest work ‘Borderlands’ explores lives defined by India's borders, and the 2017 film ‘The Unreserved’ captures stories from the general compartments of Indian Railways. Samarth is currently working on a documentary series with Vice Studios. When not making documentaries, he takes workshops and courses on documentary filmmaking at university campuses across India.
ABOUT THE KRITI FILM CLUB: This is an educational initiative of a not-for-profit organisation 'Kriti team'. We screen and share documentary films on development, environment, and socially relevant issues, in an effort to positively influence mindsets and behaviour towards creating an equitous, just, and peaceful world. We also curate issue-based film festivals and organise documentary film shows in neighbourhoods, communities, schools, colleges, or institutions on request and otherwise. The Kriti Film Club has been screening documentaries regularly and independently (without any funding) in Delhi NCR since 2000 and in Mumbai since 2019, to promote 'thought-provoking cinema'.
