About the film: The story of an old fisherman Bisnu, who sets off on an uncertain journey to find the home of an unknown man whose dead body was entangled in his fishing net and was washed ashore.
About the filmmaker: Reema Borah is a writer/ director, performing artist and has done her Masters in Theatre before joining the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, for a post graduate degree in Film Direction. The shorts directed by her as part of academic projects were showcased at film festivals globally. Her films have won the Kodak Film School Competition in 2005 and the National Film Award in 2009. She wrote and directed Chaatak in 2010 and won special mention at IDPA in 2011. "Bokul", her debut feature film, was a part of work in progress lab, Film Bazar 2014 and premiered at MAMI 2015. Bokul received five Assam state film awards and was screened at various films festivals worldwide.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker.
