Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre, New DelhiAbout the Film: Avani Rai didn’t set out to make a film about her father, the famous photographer Raghu Rai. What she wanted was to get to know him better by observing him on one of his photo trips. In the film that she ended up making anyway, Avani films and photographs her father as he works—and as he instructs her on viewpoints and framing. In the process, the film becomes a portrait not only of a passionate photographer, but also of a father-daughter relationship in which the camera is a source of both connection and friction. About the Kriti Film Club: This is an educational initiative of a not-for-profit organisation 'Kriti development praxis and communication team'. For 25+ years, we have been screening and discussing documentary films (and recently fiction), in an effort to positively influence mindsets and behaviour towards creating an equitous, just, and peaceful world. We curate issue-based film festivals and organise documentary film shows in neighbourhoods, communities, schools, colleges, or institutions on request and otherwise. We distribute independent films among educational institutions, corporates and non-profit spaces, to enhance access of such cinema. The Kriti Film Club has been screening independent films (non-fiction and fiction) regularly and independently (without any funding) in Delhi, Mumbai and other parts of India and online (Doculive.blogspot.com), to promote 'thought-provoking cinema' #impactcinema
