5th June is World Environment Day, with the theme of Forest: Nature works for you. Come and make ecofootprints on earth! In its third year, the Eco Festival conceptualized and organized by the Kriti team, aims at creating greater awareness, interest and actions to save the environment and ecosystem, making efforts at mitigating climate change.

11.15 – 1 pm EcoThematic Workshops (parallel) To learn and create
ET Workshop 1 - Water, at the core of life: Create your own water filter
Come and learn about water and water pollution, understand its cycle of life and the way to save it. In association with Veolia Water (India), we will help you understand the mechanism of clearing water by making your own water filter! Enjoy drinking and using clean water!
ET Workshop 2 - Conserving Nature and the Ecosystems
Come and play games in teams to learn about how nature takes care of us every day and why we urgently need to protect it! Nature provides us with water, food, clean air, medicines, beautiful landscapes and much more. In association with GIST, we offer you to experience why we should respect and value nature for everything it gives to us for free.

EcoArt Workshop 1 Don’t Throw, REUSE & RECYCLE : Make ‘news’paper’ and ‘waste paper’ bags
“A bag I get, a bag I discard. Paper I use….some, paper I discard.lots. Creativity I am born with, some I use Most, unfortunately, I….discard.”
So, here in this workshop, combine all! And experiment, just for yourself and for this amazing universe…Using the amazing tools of theatre, breath, visualization and with the skills of cutting and colouring to create!

EcoDance Workshop 1 FREE…
‘Free’ is a consistent state of nature. What is it like to be free consistently, to move in spirals, to be spontaneous and in the flow? This workshop is an exploration of nature both, within and around us. To discover the breath, alignment and find a parallel truism of living with nature – where there are polarities and each has a natural beginning and a natural ending. (facilitated by Shilpika Bordoloi and Kriti team volunteers)

6.00 – 7.30 pm EcoDance Workshop 2 - Rhythms of Nature
‘Rhythms of Nature’ will explore movement possibilities aligning with our natural environment and look at developing some interesting patterns. Every participant will get a chance to explore movement, rhythm and space through this workshop. Based upon contemporary and improvisational techniques, this workshop is open to all who wish to work freely with their bodies. (facilitated by Himani Khurana and Kriti team volunteers)
7.00 – 8.00 pm Grab a bite @the ecoCafe, explore the ecoHaat, interact with the Kriti team

EcoArt Workshop 2 Post a card or letter’…Make magic with paper envelopes, bags and more…with music and movement to go along.

EcoArt Workshop 3 – ‘Best out of waste’…bring any paper, tetra pack or plastic waste and convert it into your own creation!
(facilitated by Kritian Seema Rajput and other volunteers)

EcoArt Workshop 4Frame a photo’…make your own handmade, recycled paper products
This workshop will give you a variety of handmade recycled paper to make your own photoframes, wall hangings or stationary you can use. (facilitated by the Kriti EcoPapers unit team from Dehradun)
EcoTheatre Workshop Come and experience theatre, play reading and poetry around an environmental theme; create a performance for the evening programme at the festival. (facilitated by V. Shruti Devi)
3.30 – 5.30 pm EcoReels…Films on environment, wild life, water, forests and climate change for children and adults (facilitated by Kriti Film Club)
4.30 – 6 pm EcoMusic and EcoArt workshops (parallel)
EcoMusic workshop: Create your own ecoInstruments
(facilitated by Music Basti)
EcoArt Workshop 5 - Dabble with Pottery...feel mother earth (facilitated by Aparna)

Closure of festival
On the sidelines
EcoHaat: pick up community made, ecofriendly and useful tshirts, jewellery, bags, accessories, home décor items, toys, stationary, organic food and more….consume in a sustainable and ethical way.
EcoCafe: enjoy a selected organic food menu and drinks that are healthy and tasty for the palette (a mix of Indian and Western cuisine, salty and sweet).
EcoNursery: with a selected range of organic and herbal home plants and seeds, along with pots and pans for their display.
EcoExhibition cum Competition: share your creativity in the form of paintings, photographs, small installations and poetry. Selected entries will be displayed at the ecoFestival.
EcoInstallations : display and demonstration of innovations that reduce carbon footprints and provide alternatives that are more sustainable for the environment.
Note: Workshops are open to children from 4+ and adults, all age groups. Workshop contributions would be Rs.50/- per person. Please register in advance to confirm a place for yourself, but if you can’t register earlier don’t let that stop you from coming to the festival. A certificate of participation will be given to all who attend workshops.

This festival has been conceptualised and organised by Kriti team, with support from Veoli Water (India), EADS & AQM and venue support by Alliance Francaise, New Delhi.
