About the film: A bio docu-feature on urban folk musician Susmit Bose whose songs have often dealt with social issues- human rights, labour rights, child rights, global peace and non-violence. The film is structured into feature form with unique sense of story telling. The film delves on the life of Susmit Bose justifying concepts relating to the genre of Urban Folk Music and his stand as an Urban Folk Musician.
About the filmmaker: Aneek Chaudhuri has had his films in competition at prestigious festivals at Cannes, Los Angeles, Melbourne, and Warsaw. He is a film theorist and has more than a dozen papers published in reputed international journals; he has also been featured at CSR-Vision for his social views on Cinema. Now, he is one of the youngest experts at the editorial board of an International Journal based in India. He holds the authorship of four books, out of which two are on Film Studies.Moreover, Aneek is also a member of KAAHON, the directorial forum in Bengal.
About the Film Club: Kriti Film Club is an educational and research oriented initiative of Kriti: a development praxis and communication team. We offer an independent and informal space for screening documentary films on a whole range of development, human rights &environment issues. We also serve as a borrowing & access space for documentary films.
