BEYOND BORDERS FEMINIST FILM FESTIVAL 2022 / 1st - 5th December 2022 @India Habitat Centre, New Delhi
In New Delhi, on the eve of the festival, we mark the South Asian Women’s Day (30th November), with the screening of a recent award winning documentary ‘From the Shadows #Missinggirls’. Subsequently, the festival begins a five day journey into feminist cinema from 1st to 5th December 2022, 7 pm onwards, each evening.

As the story unfolds, one gets to see the degree of dysphoria she is facing, the root cause behind her current mental state as well as the catalytic factors that have contributed to her feeling this constant state of isolation.

About the Film: The artist begins an imaginative search into how she developed her schizophrenia and wonders if trauma is passed down genetically through generations. She talks to the jamun tree in the courtyard and the tree replies in the voice of an old woman. Images of the Partition of India are used and the artist wonders if her grandmother’s traumatic past (owing to the Partition) has a role to play in her own illness or suffering.
