A two-day workshop with veteran filmmakers, Tapan Bose and Meghnath whose knowledge and filmography stands the test of time immemorial. Not only are they independent filmmakers in their own right, they share a bond whose story needs to be told. The workshop will provide a glimpse of their filmmaking journeys, while watching and discussing some of their best works.
The experience will offer a historical reflection of India’s socio-political context and the times in which documentaries were emerging. Through a collective memory-sorting and thinking process, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the ‘documentary’, as a craft and form that is political and artistic in multiple layers.
All participants will also be invited for the Retrospective screening of Tapan Bose's film 'From Behind the Barricade' on 23rd August and the Delhi premiere of Meghnath's latest film 'In Search of Ajantrik', as the finale of the workshop on 24th August.
